The Second Playlist.

VALENTINE PLAYLIST!
Sorry I have to do this though. Today is valentines day, and I need to make a play list. It's only logical. The fact that it's my second play list kinda sucks... but that means I'll work extra hard on next weeks.

_____ Love
1. Hot ("Fire on your Feet" by Pop Levi)
2. Dysfunctional ("Me & Mr Jones" by Amy Winehouse)
3. Unwanted ("Save Me" by Aimee Mann)
4. Definite ("Knocked Up" by Kings of Leon)
5. Un-word-able ("The Luckiest" by Ben Folds)
6. Parent to Child ("Sweet Pea" by Amos Lee)
7. Teenage ("The Waltz" by The Afterword)
8. Beginning ("The Dress Looks Nice on You" by Sufjan Stevens)
9. Everlasting ("I Will Follow You Into the Dark" by Death Cab for Cutie)

enjoy, in whatever form of love you wish.

The Eighth Day.

Today a stream of popular songs from the early 2000's have been running through my head. Like "You Don't Have to Call" by (Insert interchangeable R&B singer/dancer) and the ever amazing "She F***ing Hates Me" by Nickleback (a friend informed me it's actually by Puddle of Mud, so Nickleback has never had a good song basically)

No time at all for Internet surfing today. In fact this was the only time I was on at all. Bruce Peninsula is a savior in a field of all ready moderately disappointing releases in 2009 (can't wait for March releases). Though it took some time to love, as most amazing albums seem to do when you first are introduced to the new style and format of the artists new sound or if it's the first time your hearing it, it now seems to be filled with completely necessary songs. My previous statement about the only really stand out songs being the ones most popularly rated in iTunes, there is in fact no song that now doesn't stand out, with either one catchy phrase or simply an amazing sounding segment, all the songs are necessary and enjoyable.

Today I got to listen to some Sublime. From this I remembered how amazing the song "Caress me Down" is. First listened to when I was about 12, it was scandalous, and I only enjoyed it because of it's taboo. Now I can see it has what every song needs. Voice distortion, a simple catchy choirs, and the fact that they are Sublime is not a damning fact either.

Oops.

Cheap and Cheerful by The Kills is from 2008... gotta research songs better I guess.
So that's off my list, but I added a iTunes exclusive live CD by The Kills, so it evens out. even though Cheap and Cheerful isn't on there... sadly.

The Fifth Day.

Today I had the manwitch song stuck in my head, almost all day. It prevented me from wanting to listen to much else, but when I got home I found some good stuff and something to look forward too.

Psapp has an album coming out in the US on the 17th, though it came out in the UK on October 17, 2008. I'm happy to take advantage of this over-seas album lag, especially because I just started listening to the band. If you are a Brit and already have the album good for you, but for those of you who don't, here are three good tracks to hold you over until next Tuesday.

PsappThe Monster Song

My collection so far is

-a bunch of MP3's off the Internet that I can't download
-a CD of ones I could (We Are Beautiful, We Are Doomed - Los Campesinos!, Cheap and Cheerful - The Kills, Airport Surroundings- Lonely Dear, Fine For Now, 2 HUD, Two Weeks,  While You Wait For Others - Grizzly Bears)
- Merriweather Post Pavillon- Animal Collective
-March of the Zapotec & Realpeople EP and Holland EP- Beirut
-A Mountain Is A Mouth- Bruce Peninsula

Today I saw TVotR on Colbert Report. "Dancing Shoes" is fantastic whenever it is preformed, and I'm already missing Dear Science.

A difficult day.

I'm writing for Sunday the 8th, because my Internet was down yesterday and nothing exciting happened today.

Yesterday I bought the Bruce Peninsula album A Mountain Is a Mouth. The whole album is decent, but there are definitely stand out songs separate from the album. Crabapples in particular, is a fantastic track. as well shanty song. basically anything that has a high popularity in the iTunes store.

I found a website with awesome tracks, mixed in with many dance remixes that basically sound the same. Here is an example of three good tracks off of it.

Driving home from seeing a friend who is barely awake in the ICU, two songs off of albums from this year seemed to completely fit the visit, epically how he might feel.
-Bruce Peninsula- Shanty Song
-Animal Collective- In the Flowers

Allowing others to choose music for me to listen too, my friend put Arctic Monkey on in the car on the way to see our mutual friend in the ICU. They were old albums because she hadn't updated the ipod in a long time, so stuff off of Favorite Worst Nightmares and Whatever People Say I am, That. Almost any track on those albums are amazing and I'm looking forward to the new Arctic Monkies album.
